VOLUNTEERS
If you are interested in volunteering with ADRA Tanzania be prepared for an experience that will change your life! The people here go out of their way to make you feel welcome and the work that you do can make such a difference. We encourage you to come either in a group or individually. The average length of stay is between two weeks and three months to finish work on a specific project. A work plan will be given that is designed specifically for you so that you will be able to best use your skills to serve the people in Tanzania. We know that you will be blessed by your time here and only ask that you demonstrate Christian behavior, and be respectful of the nationals. We look forward to meeting you.Types of positions:
- Groups which come to construct a school or church
- Individuals who are able to provide the funds for their own transportation and come to work on a short-term project or assignment
INTERNS
If you would like to use your work here at ADRA Tanzania towards a degree, or need immediate experience after completing a degree, you can apply for an internship position. Arrangements must be made with the school to ensure that the requirements for class credit also support the work of ADRA. Typically a person will come for a period of three months to one year. This is a good way to provide a foundation for future employment in development.
Types of positions:
- Research Assistant - does community research, designs and writes project proposals that will be submitted to funding agencies
- Public Relations Assistant - Maintains the web site, writes stories and takes photographs, prepares brochures
- Water Engineer - Assists in the design and construction of water systems for communities
- Project Backstop Officer - Acts as a liaison between the project and the donor and assists in the preparation of reports and evaluations
EMPLOYMENT
Occasionally we will extend an offer for employment to someone from outside Tanzania. If a project is approved for senior positions that require expertise that is difficult to find in the country, ADRA Tanzania will recruit internationally. Candidates will be paid a project salary, and will be employed until the completion of the project unless complications arise.Types of positions:

- Water Project Engineer
- Health and Sanitation Project Director
- Nutrition Specialist
