Can anyone explain the inequities we see around us? Can someone who is blessed with plenty truly feel the pain and hopelessness of one who sees a life with no solutions ahead? As Eleanor Roosevelt once said, "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." It takes courage to dream when few around you have succeeded. This is the reality in many places of the world. A reality that screams for a hand of compassion, a caring person to listen, a glimmer of light in the darkness, a candle.

I'm privileged to work in ADRA Tanzania, a place where dreams become reality. Not only are we well placed by God's grace and example to respond to the needs of thirsty, hungry and dying people with hope and solutions, we also have the joy of helping those who are caught up in a world of things to touch the lives of people who need our help. We channel your love into solutions. We enjoy rewarding you with stories of how your gift brought fireworks of happiness to people you never met. Imagine the excitement of having sparkling clean water gush out of a pipe near your mud hut! Imagine the day when you learn better ways of protecting yourself from a deadly virus like HIV, or when your child can now go to school and sit at a real desk.

Tanzania is a land of opportunity, a new democracy with freedoms that once did not exist. A land where Kiswahili is heard everywhere and English follows close behind. A land of wild animals, wonderful climates, a sparkling ocean and colorful cultures. This is a country that offers freedom of worship, and where the Adventist Church membership is over 307,000 members.

Would you help brighten the lives of the people of Tanzania through ADRA? "When you did it unto the least of these, my brethren, you did it unto me." Matthew 25
